Remove Paron

  1. In the web UI, delete the machine, or revoke its tunnel access.
  2. On the machine, stop and remove the daemon, then delete the data directory.
Terminal window
sudo systemctl disable --now paron-tunnel
sudo rm /etc/systemd/system/paron-tunnel.service
sudo systemctl daemon-reload
sudo rm -r /var/lib/paron-tunnel
  1. Remove the system account and the program.

When you remove the server, the tunnels cannot connect. Remove them first.

If you think that you will need the data again, back it up first.

Terminal window
sudo systemctl disable --now paron-server
sudo rm /etc/systemd/system/paron-server.service
sudo systemctl daemon-reload
sudo rm -r /var/lib/paron

Then remove the system account and the program.

If you trusted the certificate authority of Paron, remove “Paron Root CA” from the trusted authorities of your system or your browser. See Certificates.

The server and the tunnel use the same system account. Delete it only when no Paron daemon on the host uses it.

Terminal window
sudo userdel paron
sudo rm /usr/local/bin/paron

On a system with no userdel, use deluser paron.

If you installed the program into a different directory with PARON_INSTALL_DIR, delete it from that directory.
