Upgrade

  1. Read the changelog.
  2. Back up the data directory of the server.

At its first start, the new version changes the data directory. After that, an older version does not start with it, and shows this directory needs a newer Paron version. To go back to the older version, install it again and restore the backup.

Upgrade the server first, then the tunnels.

When the server stops, the open terminals close. The tunnels connect again after the server starts.

Run the installer again, then restart the server.

Terminal window
curl -fsSL https://paron.bovolato.dev/install.sh | sh
sudo systemctl restart paron-server

On each tunneled machine, do the same steps with the tunnel. The open terminals on the machine close, and the tunnel connects again.

Terminal window
curl -fsSL https://paron.bovolato.dev/install.sh | sh
sudo systemctl restart paron-tunnel

paron --version shows the installed version.
